Before starting the processing, it is useful to make sure the mare has read and completed the Animal Pre-Processing Guidance to make the process run more smoothly and knows what kind of animal it wishes to become, fully aware of the restrictions this wil impose.
Ensure the Pony has the required sNr Badges
Please make sure the respective sNr Ponies or sNr Livestock has collected the respective Badges for the position and is thereby both fully aware what they are getting into, as well as having some basic ponyplay skills to entice sNr Staff to take them out of their stall for training.
Give pony an sNr Tattoo
Please refer to the separate section about Tattoos.
Update Profile/Groups
If they have an owner, then state who their owner is. This is important in case of emergencies and the like as owned animals tend to have their keys with said owner and cannot be released by the staff.
If desired, get the animal to clear their profile text and just put something like " [name] is an animal owned by sNr and stabled there." For long term/hardcore ponies it’s work getting them to clear or hide their groups so only sNr shows. It is also worth getting them to change their profile picture to one showing their new form.
Consider Pony Name
It’s a good idea to give a pony a more appropriate name. In cases where the animal is owned, it is the owner’s decision if this is done and what the new name will be. Remember to add the name to the Mare Hearing configuration.
Add to sNr Pony/Livestock Group
Follow these simple steps to ensure the animal has the correct group tags available within the sNr stables grouo:
- In the conversations area select Contacts and then the group tab.
- Highlight Stones N Rubber Stables and press the Info button.
- Select the Members and Roles Tab, and then the Members tab.
- You can then search for the avatar and add the appropriate tag, or invite them as appropriate if they are not already a member.
Mare Hearing
If the animal is to be classified as sNr Livestock rather than sNr Pony, the animal might want to purchase and wear the sNr Mare Hearing tool. Wich drastically reduces its ability to understand open chat, just like a real animal wouldnt understand human speech. It costs 800 L$, but is worth it for the experience and it helps finance the ongoing running of the sim. Mare Hearing for sNr Ponies is also allowed, but might interfere with some of the activities a pony has access too compared to livestock.
Staff terminal steps
In order to give the pony to be its mare control and mare hearing, or update those on an existing pony you will have to perform the following steps within the staff terminal:
- Touch the terminal and select-> Staff Vendor -> sNr Update
- Select to have the box delivered to you rather than the pony.
- When you get the box, rez it.
- Click the rezzed box.
- Select to deliver the new Mare Control to the pony being processed when the menu appears.
Remember, if they have Mare Hearing then they are entitled to a free update, otherwise they should buy it to help the sim.
Assign to a stall
Take the animal to an appropriate stall and leash them inside. A custom-length of 3.5 allows the pony to reach the door, but is not long-enough to get out the door. Then click the names panel on the front of the stall door, and hold that click until the menu appears. The numbers go left to right, and then down to the next row:
1-2
3-4
5-6
Choose an empty slot and select from the name-list of nearby animals' login-names (not use-name) to add the pony to the slot, on the server. Then type in a pony-name for the stall.
The sNr main stalls are for animals available for training by sNr staff who have bridles with the plugin and wear the Mare Control and/or Mare Hearing. Owned ponies within the main stalls should at least have their reins available for staff and should not be too restricted to train if these restrictions cannot be temporally removed by staff. Private or guest ponies are welcome to use the guest stalls at the far end.
Lock Gear
Lock their tail, head harness and any other unlocked gear. If they have an owner, they need to lock items other than the bridle.
Lock/configure MC/MH
Lock their Mare control. Click it or type /321 mare [name] control. It’s easier to use the sNr Staff HUD so you don’t have to type /321 each time.
Using their Mare Control:
- When they are in their stall, set TP Options | Set Position so they will relog to this location.
- Do not allow TP Options | TP all unless appropiate. That is, the mare is yours or the owner has authorised it. It allows everyone, not just staff, to teleport them. Use with caution.
- Allow RLV | Touch HUD (as required). Useful if the pony uses some special hud for curtseys for example, but it is recommended that the pony uses the provided gestures that can be activated via key presses rather than a dedicated HUD.
Using their Mare Hearing
- Turn on Allow Emotes (as required)
- Set their pony Name so it appears correctly in local chat.
- Turn on Mare Talk (as required).
