| == sNr Staff HUD ==
| |
|
| |
| The staff HUD is available to staff from the staff vendor. When worn by an ‘activated’ member of staff it enables immediate access to open stall doors, access locked devices like head harnesses (or any devices with an sNr plugin) and Mare Control/Hearing. This replaces the staff key that staff used to have to wear, indeed there will be problems if you wear both.<br />
| |
| When you wear it, it will display your current staff access level. If it is not as expected, seek help from another member of staff, or reactivate yourself at the staff terminal.<br />
| |
| === Green Key Icon ===
| |
| The green key icon provides easier access to the Mare Control, Mare Hearing and advanced ownership commands.
| |
| You select an animal to work with from the ‘locked’ animals list or the full list of all nearby avatars. When you want to select a new animal click Back and select another from the ‘locked’ or ‘all’ list.
| |
| The menu for this feature is as follows:<br />
| |
|
| |
| If you click on one of the options and nothing happens then you may be too far away and have to get closer to the animal, or the animal is not wearing Mare Control or Mare Hearing as required.<br />
| |
| The ownership options and use of Mare Hearing and Mare Control are covered further below.

| === Yellow Star Icon === | | {| class="wikitable" |
| The yellow star icon provides access to the pony rating tool. This is an experimental tool and is likely to be developed further in time.
| | |- |
| When you click the star icon you get the following menu:

| |
|
| Then when you have selected a pony. You get the following menu:
| | |
|
| |
| <div style="clear: both"></div>
| |
| This allows you to add another pony to this evaluation session, discard the ones you previously picked or start the session.
| |
| When you have the ponies selected and have pressed start, just start the training session as normal, and ignore this tool until the training has finished.
| |
| When the training session has finished, press the yellow star icon again and the following menu appears:
| |
|
| |
| <div style="clear: both"></div>
| |
| At this point you can add another pony to the ones you are rating, discard all or rate each of the ponies on their performance.
| |
| On pressing rate you get the following menu:
| |
|
| |
| <div style="clear: both"></div>
| |
| Select the appropriate rating for the pony and the following menu appears:
| |
| | |
| <div style="clear: both"></div>
| |
| You can either change or rating here or send the data to the database.
| |
| If you press send! you get a confirmation message in the local chat and a link to the webpage showing the pony’s rating records.
| |
| === Blue Whip Icon ===
| |
| This option is discussed in the section on carting.
| |
| === Red sNr Icon ===
| |
| Clicking this option brings up a webpage showing the locations of all stalled mares with links to their profile. This is very useful for finding where a mare should be stalled when you need to return them!
| |
| == sNr Plugins (RR and MD) ==
| |
| These plugins are added to MD and RR equipment to enable ‘activated’ staff to access their bridles when wearing their staff HUD. These are essential for head harnesses but optionally can be added to other relevant RR and MD equipment such as tails, boots, neck corset and harness.
| |
| The plugins are available for free from the vendor wheel indicated on the map in this guide.
| |
| Both the RR and MD plugin scripts need to be manually added to the respective bridles by the pony. To do this, they rez the bridle to the floor, select Edit and then drag the scripts into the content tab. Take the bridle and wear it as normal. Now sNr staff have access to their bridle even if it's locked, or an owner can lock it exclusively.
| |
| == Mare Control ==
| |
| The Mare Control is effectively a specialised collar and by default, uses RLV to lock down the pony as follows:
| |
| * Teleport
| |
| * Detach
| |
| * Maps
| |
| * Edit
| |
| * Rez
| |
| * Show Names
| |
| * Show Name Tags
| |
| * Show Tags
| |
| * View Notes
| |
| * View Scripts
| |
| * Touch
| |
| * Show Location
| |
| * Set Environment
| |
| * Run
| |
| * Set Group
| |
| * Show Nearby Avatars
| |
| * Cam Zoom
| |
| * Add or remove clothes or attachments
| |
| * Show Inventory
| |
| * Touch HUDs
| |
| * Start, send or receive IMs
| |
| Note that the environment settings are locked so it is a good idea to make sure the animal uses a fixed day setting under World | Environment Editor | Environment Settings before they are locked as they may find it hard to train in darkness and not be able to change it.
| |
| It can be accessed by an activated staff member via touch, a text command or the Staff HUD buttons. Quite often, the mare control collar can be obscured by something like a neck corset, so the text command or staff HUD is often easier.
| |
| The text command is /123 mare <name> control in local where name is the target’s login first name. If successful, the dialog box will appear. If the text ‘This animal has an owner’ appears at the top then you may be limited in what you can adjust, or may not be able to access it at all.
| |
| Once you have accessed the Mare Control, if it is unlocked you will get a menu with the option to lock the pony.
| |
| IMAGE
| |
| | |
| You can now lock the animal and the Mare Hearing (if worn), will be locked and activated at the same time.
| |
| After you have locked the animal, you will get something like the following menu:
| |
| IMAGE
| |
| | |
| The first thing to note is the message at the top in this example which says ⚠ This animal has an owner. This means that some of the mare Control options may be disabled for you. As you can see in this example, all the IM options have been disabled by the owner, and you are unable to release the animal either.
| |
| Here is an example of a Mare Control menu with no owner:
| |
| IMAGE
| |
| The top-level Mare Control options by default are as follows:
| |
| * Force Sit
| |
| * TP Options
| |
| * IM Me
| |
| * IM All
| |
| * RLV
| |
| * Release
| |
| | |
| === Force Sit ===
| |
| IMAGE
| |
| Back takes you back to the Mare Control main menu.
| |
| Sit scans for nearby objects and gives you a button for each one, and provides a more detailed list in the local chat. This is important for something like different cart types as the button can only display limited text, so you may not have enough information to tell which cart is which. When you select an item, the pony will be sat on it. The pony should not have to deactivate their AO.
| |
| Unsit will force unseat the pony from whichever object they were sat on previously.
| |
| === TP Options ===
| |
| IMAGE
| |
| Back takes you back to the Mare Control main menu.
| |
| TP all allows non members of staff to lure the pony via a teleport. This need to be enabled if you want to TP the pony to another sim, perhaps for carting. Staff members don’t need this, they just must make sure to access mare control at least once during the session so that MC identifies them as staff and authorises teleports.
| |
| Set Position is used when the pony is in its stall at sNr. This means that their home position is set and if they log on elsewhere, they will be returned to their home stall. This is usually set when the pony is processed.
| |
| === RLV ===
| |
| IMAGE
| |
| | |
| * Back takes you back to the Mare Control main menu.
| |
| * Inventory controls the pony’s access to its inventory.
| |
| * Wear/Remove controls whether the pony can add or remove attachments or clothes.
| |
| * Running controls if they can run. This may need to be enabled for some pony sports.
| |
| * Rez/Edit controls if the pony can rez or edit items.
| |
| * Touch HUD controls if the pony can touch a HUD on their screen. In most cases, a pony should not need to click a HUD if they have set things up as directed in this manual.
| |
| * Strict Mode locks a pony for at least seven days with a number of strict restrictions which can not be adjusted during this period. Please use with caution and only in special circumstances.
| |
| * IM Me/IM All
| |
| Pressing this button toggles the type of IM access granted, so it’s important to look at the text above the buttons to see what you have set. With each press it will toggle between denied to receive only then receive and send.
| |
| It’s important to notice the distinction between IMs with You and IMs with all. In most cases you would only grant IMs to yourself to discuss or resolve an issue with a pony.
| |
| IMs to you are reset if another staff member overrides it or when the pony relogs.
| |
| * Release
| |
| Release is used to unlock the pony from its Mare Control. You will get a warning first which you need to acknowledge.
| |
| The Mare Control collar is very powerful so although an animal may have a separate ownership collar, it is recommended that only the detach restriction be used on the separate collar to avoid having restriction clashes and conflicts which can be hard to diagnose.
| |
| The release menu also provides a timer option. Clicking this takes you to a webpage link. Here you can set the date and time for the Mare Control to be automatically released.
| |
| * Mare Vision
| |
| Mare Vision is a paid plugin to the Mare Control which provides additional vision restrictions for the pony including cam lock, forced mouselook and full Mare Vision which makes avatars silhouettes at a certain distance and a foggy atmosphere. You may need to disable some of these features for training.
| |
| Note: Please be aware that Mare Vision will not work with Firestorm as it stands, because they have not yet implemented the latest version of RLV. The mare will need to use Marine’s Viewer or Kokua instead.
| |
| To obtain Mare Vision, the pony needs to purchase the plugin from the vendor wheel. Then they rez the Mare Control on the ground, edit it, select the contents tab and then drag the provided script into the contents tab. They then wear the Mare Control again, and the staff member will see a new Mare Vision option in their Mare Control menu.
| |
| === Ownership ===
| |
| Mare Control allows you to add yourself or someone else as an owner of any animal wearing it. This will give you ultimate control over their Mare Control including what functions are available to other sNr staff.
| |
| ==== Setting Owner ====
| |
| Although the ownership command can be done via text, it is safer to use the Staff HUD to use the owner functions to avoid mistakes.<br />
| |
| So, first the staff member clicks the blue key icon, then on the ownership button and the following menu will appear:
| |
| IMAGE
| |
| Next, click the Add Owner button.<br />
| |
| When you ask to be their owner, the animal will get a confirmation dialog explaining what this means and the extra control you - the new owner - will have. You will be notified if the animal declines ownership as shown below:
| |
| IMAGE
| |
| | |
| If they accept, you will receive a confirmation message in local chat.<br />
| |
| Assuming they accept, you will then get another menu option called Owner Sett, in addition to the options you had before, available in your Mare Control for that animal as shown below:
| |
| IMAGE
| |
| | |
| | |
| ==== Owner Settings ====
| |
| There are a number of buttons on this menu which toggle how much access other staff have to your mare. Text above the buttons show which extra owner restrictions are active, as shown below:
| |
| IMAGE
| |
| * [back]
| |
| Returns you to the Mare Control main menu.
| |
| * [unlock]
| |
| This toggles whether other staff can release and unlock your animals mare control. When activated, only you will be able to release the mare and no one else. A Sim Mistress and above and override this, but it is only done in extreme circumstances.
| |
| * [IM Send]
| |
| This toggles the staff ability to enable IMs between the animal and other staff.
| |
| * [IM All]
| |
| This toggles the staff ability to enable IMs between the animal and anyone else.
| |
| * [MC Access]
| |
| This toggles the ability for staff to access the animals Mare Control. Please consider using this carefully, as it may restrict staff from being able to assist your pony in your absence. If selected, other staff will receive a message saying the owner of the animal has blocked access to its mare control if they try and access it in the course of their duties.
| |
| * [MH Access]
| |
| This toggles the ability for staff to access the animals Mare Hearing.
| |
| * [Bridle access]
| |
| This toggles whether other trainers can access your animal's bridle at all. Please consider using this carefully because if blocked, no staff can take your animal out fo rtraining.
| |
| | |
| == Mare Hearing ==
| |
| Mare Hearing acts as a powerful extension to Mare Control. It is a very powerful and effective device which truly immerses the pony into its new life. Put simply, it reduces the vocabulary of the words an animal can understand to just some basic words they need to be an animal. Every other word in the sentence becomes obfuscated.<br />
| |
| The pony simply wears the simple HUD icon and it displays just as an icon. No further interaction is required by the pony so it can be simply reduced in size and left untouched.<br />
| |
| So someone saying in local “Well aren't you a cute little pony?”<br />
| |
| Becomes “░░░ ░░░ ░░░ ░░░ ░░░ ░░░ ░░░?” to the pony.<br />
| |
| There are some simple pony play words they can learn if they hear that word enough. So, after time, the pony may get “░░░ ░░░ ░░░ ░░░ ░░░ ░░░ pony?”<br />
| |
| You can use a command in local chat to adjust the animal’s mare hearing as follows: <br />
| |
| /321 mare <NAME> hearing<br />
| |
| Where <NAME> is the target’s legacy name, or simply use the sNr staff HUD which is easier.<br />
| |
| The Mare Hearing Menu looks like this:<br />
| |
|
| |
| === [Mare Talk] ===
| |
| This toggles the ability for mares to speak and listen to each other in a secret language no one else can hear. It is usually left enabled.
| |
| === [Unlock] ===
| |
| This toggles the mare hearing capability. This can be useful if you need the mare to hear local in order to help them train, or perhaps to give them a temporary time-out.
| |
| === [Name] ===
| |
| The pony’s name as used in local chat is set here, and obviously needs to match their display name so bystanders know you is speaking or emoting.
| |
| === [Allow Emotes] ===
| |
| If this is enabled then emotes can be sent as normal, but if it is activated then the pony can only emote using the gestures listed in a previous section.
| |
| If you cannot obtain access to the Mare Hearing then you may be too far away to use it, the pony isn’t wearing it or the owner has disabled access to it.
| |
| You also have options to block emotes and set the pony name to be displayed in local chat.
| |
| | |
| == Stalls ==
| |
| Opening a Stall
| |
| To open a stall door, the staff member needs to be wearing their Staff HUD and be activated. Simply click anywhere on the door frame, avoiding the sNr logo on the nameplate. Clicking the sNr logo on the nameplate allows you to edit the stall nameplate, which is covered below. Always allow a little time, as there is a short delay whilst the Staff HUD checks your permissions.
| |
| === Stall Nameplates ===
| |
| Each pony should have its name on its allocated stall, except in the case of rubber mares or guest ponies.<br />
| |
|
| |
| The image below shows an example of a nameplate on an sNr stall door, marked up with the stall position numbers from ① to ⑥ which becomes important when you use the menu below.
| |
| | |
| If you click the sNr logo on the nameplate whilst activated and wearing a staff HUD, then the following menu appears:
| |
|
| |
| <div style="clear: both"></div>
| |
| As you can see the menu comprises a list of numbers from 1 – 6 – these refer to the position numbers marked up on the nameplate image above. There is also an info button and a button to open door.
| |
| *[Info]
| |
| Pressing the info button provides a list of names to you in local chat detailing the pony’s username, display name, which staff member added them and when.
| |
|
| |
| * [Open Door]
| |
| This is another way of opening the stall door, but less efficient than just clicking on the door frame itself.
| |
| [x]
| |
| IMAGE
| |
| If you click one of the stall numbers then you get the menu below. You have options to assign a nearby person to a stall, remove a person or go back.
| |
| If you assign a person to a stall then you will have the option to add their pony name. It’s wise to have their stall name match their display name so staff know which stall to put them in.
| |
| Remove a stall name if the pony has been released. It is a regular admin function by senior staff to clear out unused stalls, but reduces their workload if you remove it after releasing someone.
| |
| == Accessing Bridles ==
| |
| As a member of staff, you are able to approach a mare and leash it to take it for training and leash it back in its stall when it is finished. The guide below covers simple use of MD, RR and KDC bridles.
| |
| | |
| Remember to wear a leash handle or ring containing scripts for leashing MD, RR and open collar bridles as a minimum.
| |
| | |
| If you cannot get access, then check the following:
| |
| | |
| * The owner may have prevented access to their pony’s bridle using the Mare Control Owner rights.
| |
| * You may be standing too far away.
| |
| * Your staff access may need reactivating.
| |
| * You may not be wearing the Staff HUD.
| |
| * The pony may not have added the plugins or it is not set up correctly.
| |
| === MD Bridle ===
| |
| To access the bridle menu, simply click on the bridle, usually around the bit area and the following menu appears:
| |
| IMAGE
| |
| | |
| To leash a pony, press leash. Then you grab the leash and press length to set the length accordingly. 2 or 3 metres is usually about right for taking them out.
| |
| If they are not bitted, then press gag and pony bit.
| |
| To secure them to a leash ring, click leash to and then the ring you want to leash them to. Then set the length accordingly.
| |
| Please do use the features in RLV, as these will conflict with those provided by Mare Control.
| |
| For more information, consult the MD notecard, or get a copy from a pony.
| |
| === RR Bridle ===
| |
| To access the bridle menu, simply click on the bridle, usually around the bit area and the following menu appears:
| |
| IMAGE
| |
| | |
| To leash a pony, press plugins | Leash. Then you grab leash and press length to set the length accordingly. 2 or 3 metres is usually about right for taking them out. You have to press custom to achieve a 3 metre length.
| |
| If they are not bitted, then press Harness Ring. If the pony has a ring rather than a bit then go to Plugins | Style and click Harness Bit.
| |
| To secure them to a leash ring, click Plugins | Leash and then the ring you want to leash them to. Then set the length accordingly. There may be a little pause, so wait patiently.
| |
| Please do not use any RLV features, as these will conflict with those provided by Mare Control.
| |
| For more information, consult the RR guidance.
| |
| === KDC Bridle ===
| |
| The KDC bridle is simple and elegant and considered a very script-light gear which will not burden your sim or your computer. There are no built-in menus with this gear. You need to obtain the KDC script to add to your leash holder (ask in the group chat) and then you simply click the leash in your hand and then touch one of the leash points on the bridle. Then the animal will be leashed. You do the same to unleash it.
| |
| There is no setting to change the leash length, so the length of the leash will be determined by how far you are standing from it when you leashed it. In terms of leashing the animal to leash rings and posts, this will be tricky as these do not have the KDC scripts inside. It is possible that arrangements can be made if you have an animal with the KDC bridle.
